Daily In The Hands Of The Father

Day 1 – Have you submitted?

When someone wants to help you out of a situation you must accept the helping hand when offered.  It is that way with the Father.  The Lord wants to help you through your troubles.  He wants to bless you and give you peace in all things.

You can continue to wallow in your pain and hopelessness or you can release to the creator of the universe who is standing there with His hand extended.

Troubles and trials will not disappear, but with submission. to the Father you will have peace and even joy in the midst of your sadness.  You will have hope that He will see you through.

Seek the Father of all and you can have peace and joy.  Your heart may ache or be in a time of grieving.  You may not be happy all the time, happiness can be dependent on circumstances.  No matter what is going on, you can have peace and joy through it.  Peace brings a calmness through all things.

Allow the Lord to control, do not allow your emotions to have control over you.  Emotions without the Lord destroy our peace and we live in turmoil.  Release and submit today.

"But seek His kingdom, and these things be provided for you"  Luke 12:31HSB

"Search for the Lord and for His strength; seek His face always"  Psalm 105:4 HSB

"I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace.  You will have suffering in this world.  Be courageous!  I have conquered the world"  John 16:33 HSB

"Peace I leave with you.  My peace I give you.  I do not give you as the world gives.  Your heart must not be troubled or fearful"  John 14:27 HSB

Day 2 – Go Beyond Your Own Dreams

What are your dreams?  Even more what do you want those dreams to bring you?  In the end I believe what  most people are be looking for are:  Contentment; satisfaction; security; comfort; fulfillment.  Hopefully there is a desire to make a difference, but often selfishness or being self centered blocks that out.  Hopefully that desire is at least hiding deep inside.

If those are your dreams, now the question is how do you achieve them?  Most look to the world for those answers.  We often listen to people who have made great riches or we listen to the celebrities on TV telling us what we should think.

We should be looking to those who have had an impact in the world for good.  The wonderful truth is that we have access to the one who has made the greatest impact on the world, Jesus Christ.  We can have access to the creator of all things anytime we desire.  He wants to give us guidance and visions.  When we enter into that relationship our dreams will come from the Father of all, the Holy One.  With His help we can fulfill those dreams.

Joseph had dreams and while he struggled for many years, those dreams ultimately went beyond what he could have imagined.  He went beyond his dreams to God’s vision.  He was rewarded because he persevered and stayed loyal to the Lord through all that he went through.

Read Genesis 37 the dreams and Genesis 41 the fulfillment of those dreams.

Day 3 – On Your Knees, Prayer Changes Things

Life is crazy, everything seems to be going the wrong way.  Our nation’s leaders are not leading us down a path of what is good.  God is ignored, people believe the lies of those who say they are on our side.  We vote for a candidate who says all the right things, no matter what their past shows us.  The news media controls our thoughts, they report or make up whatever they want us to hear and believe.  There is no hope, not even for those who see through the lies.

But there is hope in the Lord.  We can make a difference, we can turn things around.

“and My people who are called by My name humble themselves, pray and seek My face, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.”  2 Chronicles 7:14 HCSB

Is you life out of control; is everything around you falling apart; is all hope lost?

Get on your knees and receive hope, see lives change.  Know, though, it is God’s wisdom that comes from answered prayer.  Put no precondition or our limited expectations on His answers.

Is their hope in your circumstances?  Yes, but only if we get on our knees and pray and submit to the Father.

Day 4 – Why Worry?

“And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “ Abba, Father! ” So you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.”  Galatians 4:6-7 HCSB

I had several things running through my mind, I was worried about what I didn't do and not sure if I had done something else.  My mind was running non stop thinking about this or that, things I thought I needed to be worried about.  I was becoming very anxious.  I was talking to the Lord, asking but not completely trusting.

Suddenly I had peace. Just after I got on the bus and starting reading my devotionals I saw why.  The above verse was in my daily New Testament reading.  We are sons and daughters of the Most High God, which was a reinforcement of something my pastor said yesterday.  We have our Holy Father we can go to for anything.  We have the creator of the universe who will listen to our prayers.

The other devotional I as reading, @YouVersion plan 'STAY FIT: Strengthening Your Connection To Jesus', the writer was talking about worry and anxiety.  He said when we get in this state it is very exhausting.  That is so true, I was all tied up inside trying to figure it all out.  We tend to internalize these things and try to get it all figured out on our own.  We should be taking all things to the Father, big and small, to get His view point and His perfect solution.  He says we have no reason to worry:  “Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 4:6-7 HCSB

So you can worry and stress and try to figure it out on your own, or you can go to the Lord and ask and receive and be thankful He is there to hear all our prayers.  Rejoice in the Lord and have peace.

Day 5 – Why We War

War is not just armies going at to promote their ideas or to take over other lands.  We war with each other.  We battle over insignificant things, with those we should be supporting.  Families are blown apart.  What is the source?

“What is the source of wars and fights among you? Don’t they come from the cravings that are at war within you? You desire and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. You do not have because you do not ask. You ask and don’t receive because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your evil desires.”  James 4:1-3 HCSB

The source is our own selfishness; our desires to get what we want, no matter who is hurt or what the cost.  We are upset because we never get what we want and we deserve it.  Deserve it, maybe.  Do we really deserve what we want?  Depends on our motives.

The Father wants to give us all that we desire, but depending on our motives that could be disastrous.  He always understands our motives and takes that into account.  When we look at things from a selfish point of view, it may not be what is best for the Father’s plan for our life.  Be in tune with what He wants for you and it will much more satisfying.  So often when we crave things of this world like riches, glory and pleasures of the world, it is never enough to satisfy.  We always want more and more.

Now is the time to evaluate your motives for what you desire.  Get in touch with the Father and get a clear picture of what is best for you and more importantly must for His glory.  Glory goes to God, not us.  The riches of this world pale when put in an eternal perspective.  The pleasures of this world will never fulfill, the pleasure of a close relationship with the Father does fulfill.

So put your desires in sync with His desires and you will get what you want and you will have peace.  Others may still fight you because they are not there, show them how to have peace and fulfillment.

Day 6 – See Clearly In The Light

“Then Jesus spoke to them again: “I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows Me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.””  John 8:12 HCSB

It’s a very dark night and suddenly the power goes out.  You can’t see a thing; you stumble around the house; you trip over things.  You must cautiously navigate around to avoid injury.  Or you get stranded out in the middle of nowhere with no way to give any light to guide you through any danger that lies ahead.  Pretty scary, walking around without being able to see anything.

Are you spending your life in the darkness, unable to see truth; unable to see the path?  Jesus gives the light so we can see the path to follow.  We will no longer be in darkness vulnerable to the attacks of the enemy.  Can you not fight something better if you can see it?

Through Jesus we see the glory and power of God.  We see His helping hand.  We will see the pit before we fall in.  With Christ we will never walk in the darkness and fall prey to the evils of this world.  Jesus says following Him will keep us from the darkness.

You can walk around blindly and never find your way or you can live in Hs light and be protected through the trials of the world.  The enemy will attack, but with His light we can see the attack coming and be prepared.  Follow Jesus and He will light your way.

Day 7 – Always Something else to do

““Lord,” another of His disciples said, “first let me go bury my father.” But Jesus told him, “Follow Me, and let the dead bury their own dead.””  Matthew 8:21-22 HCSB

The lesson here isn’t about lack of compassion for this disciples’s dead father.  It is about being distracted from the Lord, even if it is our day to day things that need to get done.  Often it is other distractions that take us away.  I need to spend some time relaxing in front of the TV or play those video games, it gets my mind off the stresses of the day.

We can find anything that takes us away from our time with the Lord.  Spending time with the Father, meditating on His word can be so calming.  I find writing about what I have read does that as well.  The distractions actually do the opposite.

Jesus is not saying do not take care of the important things in life here.  He is saying you need to spend time on the most important thing in life, following Him.  After all He is the giver of life and the filler of life.  Be filled with His Holy Spirit and be set free.  Do not let the distractions control you.

Day 8 – The Best Laid Plans

You may have heard the saying ‘The best laid plans of mice and men” from the poem ‘To a Mouse’ by Robert Burns or John Steinbeck’s novel ‘Of Mice and Men’.

The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry according to the poem.  That is true we often have great plans and never get them accomplished.  The plans of God never go awry.  If we only would tap into His plans, they are so much better.  I am not saying do not plan, but be in touch with the plans He has.  His plans are always for our good, plans that give us a future and hope.

“For I know the plans I have for you” — this is the Lord’s declaration — “plans for your welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”  Jeremiah 29:11 HCSB

Clearly He knows the plans He has, tap into that listen to His plans and you will not fail.
“You will call to Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you” — this is the Lord’s declaration — “and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and places where I banished you” — this is the Lord’s declaration. “I will restore you to the place I deported you from.””  Jeremiah 29:12-14 HCSB

When we are not in sync with the Father’s plans, we will go awry, but get back to that and He will restore us to the right path.  Seek through prayer and with your heart and He will hear you.

His plans or ours, the choice is up to us.  Choose His and be restored to great things, choose our’s and fall short of what He has for us.

Day 9 – Open Your Eyes

“Isaiah’s prophecy is fulfilled in them, which says: You will listen and listen, yet never understand; and you will look and look, yet never perceive.”  Matthew 13:14 HCSB

Jesus spoke in parables so the listeners would have to open their ears and really listen.  In other words when we are listening we must pay attention to really understand what is being said.  How often do we listen to what we hear on TV and get misled by what the marketers what us to believe.  The politicians do it all the time, they spew out a bunch of words and hope we do not listen to what the really are saying.  They say abortion is about a woman’s right to choose what she does with her body and want us to believe it is about personal rights.  But it is actually about taking the life of a child.  It is not their body, it is the child’s bod and the child did not get the right to choose.

There are so many things the world wants us to believe and so many buy in to it.  So listen carefully to what is said, especially listen to the words of Jesus.  When you listen it becomes so clear and understanding comes.  When we hear His words of love, mercy and grace we have peace.  Do not believe the lies of the world, if you only stop and listen you will clearly see the world’s talk is just rhetoric.

“For this people’s heart has grown callous; their ears are hard of hearing, and they have shut their eyes; otherwise they might see with their eyes and hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn back — and I would cure them.”  Matthew 13:15 HCSB

Open your eyes and ears and He will cure you, He will give you salvation.

Day 10 – When All Is Said And Done

“When all has been heard, the conclusion of the matter is:  Fear God and keep His commands, because this is for all humanity.”  Ecclesiastes 12:13 hcsb

The bottom line here is it is all about God.  Revere Him and listen to His commands, because it is for our own good.  The Lord’s commands are not about following rules, they are there to help us have a full and pure life.  Desire to be in His will and you will find peace.  If you choose not to be in His will, there will be consequences.  “For God will bring every act to judgment, including every hidden thing whether good or evil.”  Ecclesiastes 12:14 hcsb

While it is true His commands are for our good to lead a better life, they are commands none the less and we will be judged based on them.
If you love the Lord you will obey.  Jesus’ words: “If you love Me, you will keep My commands.”  John 14:15 hcsb

His commands are all the commands in the Bible, the Word of God.  Jesus is the Word of God.  “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.” John 1:1 hcsb “The Word became flesh and took up residence among us.  We observed His glory, the glory as the One and Only Son from the Father full of grace and truth.”  John 1:14 hcsb

When it is all said and done God’s law is to be followed, His law is not suggestions.  Unfortunately we all fall short.  Fortunately the Word came to die for us.  “For God so loved the world in this way:  He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 hcsb

Believe in the Word, follow the Word and love the Word.  Do it and you will not be judged guilty.  Choose another path and you are subject to God’s judgement.  All will stand before God and be judged on what the Word has set before us as law.

I am thankful that while I fall short and fail to follow all the law, that I am spared from that final condemning judgement.  I truly understand that I would be judged and convicted to eternal death, if not for the grace of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who died for my wrongs.  “rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as I was taught, overflowing with gratitude.”  Colossians 2:7

Yes I am overflowing with gratitude for what He has done for me, in spite of me.  He loves me and I love Him.  I bow down and repent that I am a sinner and receive His undeserved grace and forgiveness.  At the end of the day, I am His.

Day 11 – Grieve Then Rejoice

“For my sins have flooded over my head; they are a burden too heavy for me to bear.  My wounds are foul and festering because of my foolishness.  I am bent over and brought low; all day long I go around mourning.”  Psalm 38:4-6

Some times in the age of grace we are not grieved by our sin.  We need to look to David, a man after God’s heart.  David loved the Lord dearly and always desired to do what was right.  However, just like us, he was a sinner.  When David realized his sin, he grieved greatly as in Psalm 38.  He also prayed for protection from the consequences, but was accepting of them.

After a time of grief, David would then celebrate and worship the Lord.  Many did not understand this, but David the Father and knew the Lord is to be celebrated in all things.  It is time for us to be truly repentant of our wrongs, but at same time appreciate the grace of our loving Father.  For in Jesus the price we could not bear was paid.

The Church today needs to be better at grieving and rejoicing, just like David.  After David heard of the death of his son born from sin with Bathsheba, “Then David got up from the ground.  He washed, anointed himself, changed his clothes, went to the Lord’s house, and worshiped.
2 Samuel 12:20

David spent the time after confrontation of his sin grieving and fasting.  Then after the full consequences were know, he worshiped the Lord.  We may have to pay some price for our sin, but not the full price.  Praise God.

Day 12 – Sacrifice or Mercy

“If you had known what this means: I desire mercy and not sacrifice, you would not have condemned the innocent.”   Matthew 12:7 HCSB
It is good to sacrifice in our lives and give up on things; to follow all the rules is a good thing.  But if we do it without mercy and compassion to others is there any value?

Jesus’ concern here is not following the rules and doing the right things, its is about understanding others and their situations.  The Pharisees were complaining that Jesus and His disciples were breaking the rules by picking grains to eat on the Sabbath.  The Pharisee in us will point out what people are doing wrong, without understanding what is going on in their life.

People are hungry or hurting and lash out or go down a bad path and we are quick to point out their sin.  Those people are all of us, we make bad choices.  If God, who is the perfect creator, decided to judge He would be well within in His rights.  Yet the loving Father chose to show mercy rather than condemn.  He decided to be forgiving rather than punish.  Our Father sent His Son to be sacrificed for us.  Jesus didn't just come and sacrifice His life, He should mercy to many.  So many who were sinners reached out to our Savior to get healing and the love in His heart caused Him to heal them.

Jesus shows us that sacrifice and mercy go together.  We need to show the mercy of the Father to others.  Part of mercy, as Jesus showed, is to help guide them to the right path with love, not condemnation.

Jesus sacrificed His life to show mercy.  He sacrificed for us.  The Pharisees’ sacrifices were self serving not to show mercy to others.  The Pharisees sacrificed so they could condemn others for falling short.

Now is the time to sacrifice our judgmental selves and show mercy to others to help them heal and receive the Father’s mercy and compassion.

Day 13 – Who Are You Looking For?

“Then Jesus, knowing everything that was about to happen to Him, went out to them and said ‘Who is it you are looking for?’  ‘Jesus the Nazarene,’ they answered.  ‘I am He,’ Jesus told them.  Judas, who betrayed Him, was also standing with them.  When He told them ‘I am He,’ the stepped back and fell to the ground.”  John 18:4-6 HSB

These Roman soldiers and Temple police, strong and powerful men, bowed down before the Lord.  They came to take Him, but could only because He allowed it.  Christ has complete power over the enemy.

When they were down on the ground, “Then He asked them again, ‘Who is it you are looking for?’  ‘Jesus the Nazarene,’ they said. ‘I told you I am He,’ Jesus replied.  ‘So if you are looking for Me, let these men go.’  This was said to fulfill the words He had said, ‘I have not lost one of those You have given Me.’”  John 18:7-8 HSB

They were in shock, the power of His words and that He would say He was the one they were looking for.  He actually had to tell them again to wake them so they could do their job.  Then He says to take Him, but let the others with Him go.  Jesus alone would submit to them and save the others.

Jesus said to death take Me and let them go.  The them is us, death had no power over us.  We now have eternal life instead of the eternal death we deserve.  None the Father has given Him will be lost.

Jesus was feeling the weight of what He was about to endure for us.  He could have easily slipped away; He could have called down a legion of angels.  But He did not, He knew what He had to do.

He knew He would be whipped and beaten; He knew He would be nailed to a cross; He knew the weight of all our sin would be put upon Him; He knew He would be separated from the Father.  He knew the great pain of all of this.  Yet He gave up to the soldiers.

“For God so loved the world in this way; He have His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.”  John 3:16 HSB

I cannot even imagine the pain He suffered for me.  He did it for you and me.  Remember this Easter what He did.  Think about it and take it to heart.  Meditate on it.  It is amazing, all you have to do to have eternal life is to believe.  Jesus Christ our Savior did the rest.  Just Believe!

Day 14 – Land of the Living

“I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” Psalm 27:13 HCSB
David was having false witnesses speaking out against him, but he did not despair because David knew he had the God of the living looking out for him.

There are so many false witnesses out there today. They often use anger and outrage to cover up the fact that their argument makes no sense. Many point to others, but make sure you are not doing the same. So many act like they have compassion, but their actions do not portray that.
These people are clever in their manipulation. They know that 93% of communication is not based on the spoken word. 55% is body language, 38% is tone and only 7% is the words you say. Therefore your body language and tone convince people what you are saying is true, even if the words are untrue.

If you are being attacked show no despair, find solace in the God of the living. Speak only truth and do not be rattled by those trying to trap you.
Get your mind in sync with the One and Only true God, the Father, who will give you wisdom. Do not let emotion control you. While it is good to show emotion, allowing it to control you invalidates what you have to say in the eyes of your listeners.

If your hope lays in the Father, you can keep control. The truth will win in the end. Listen to a person’s words more than their presentation.
Like David, seek to dwell in the house of the Lord and be safe.

“On thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to meditate in His temple. For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle, in the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock”. Psalm 27:4-5

“I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”  Psalm 27:13 HCSB

Day 16 – What Are You Asking For?

“"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!”  Matthew 7:7-11 NASB

Are you asking for things or are you asking for the bread of life, that you will live a productive life in the Lord?  There is more hear than meeting our daily needs for food and shelter; more than asking for things that make our life easy.  What I seek is the strength of the Lord when I am tempted to defeat the evil in me that wants to go down another path.

We can know the right thing to do, but our flesh can convince us otherwise.  Even when doing that wrong thing is just in our imagination there is danger.  Go down the path enough in your mind can take you there in practice.  Stay strong by relying on the Lord, asking for the Father’s hand to hold you on the right path.  Seek the Father’s guidance more than anything, in everything.

He will guide us out of despair; He will guide us out of temptation; He will guide us to peace and joy.  Look to Him and be free, look to our fleshly desires and we will be held captive.  Look to Him to fill the voids in our life and we will be filled, look to man and we will remain empty.

Go to the Father in prayer.  Sometimes writing your request, or sharing it can make it stronger.  Go here if you would like to be joined in your prayer to seek the Lord: http://www.inthehandsofthefather.com/prayer-requests
I join you in your prayer.

Day 17 – Sowing

“And those are the ones on whom seed was sown on good soil; and they hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirty, sixty and a hundred fold.”  Mark 4:20

I am full of peace and joy in the Lord, yet my heart aches for those who are not receiving the Father’s word.  Both believers and non believers.  Through times of struggle He is always there giving me hope.  He will be there for you as well, just reach out and take His extended hand.

I don't know all your struggles and the depth of your pain.  But the Father does and He can heal you, I have experienced it.  My prayer for you, is that you will hear the Holy Father’s word and receive a fresh filling of His Holy Spirit.  That you will be healed and receive hope, peace and joy.

I pray that when you receive His word and apply it in your life that you will receive and pass on fruit in the life of others.  We are here to receive a restored relationship with the Father through Jesus Christ.  Then we have a responsibility to spread the good news.

I pray you hear accept and bear fruit.  I pray I will hear, accept and bear fruit daily.  Will you join me in this prayer?  Will you join me in accepting His Word?  Will you join me in spreading the good news?

In John chapter one it says Jesus is the Word, hear Jesus today and have peace.

Day 18 –  It is Finished We are Made Clean

“And He stretched out His hand and touched him saying, ‘I am willing, be cleansed.’ And immediately the leprosy left him.”  Luke 5:13 NASB

People with leprosy were considered unclean.  No one could go around them because it was contagious.  Sin is like leprosy, it is contagious.  We get caught up in it and become impure.  We can draw others into it.  Sin drags us down.  Immorality will cause our spirit to decay like the skin of one with leprosy.

Jesus said on the cross “It is finished!” John 19:30

So it is finished, we can now be cleansed of our sin.  All we must do is come to Jesus and acknowledge we are unclean and accept His cleansing.
I have been saying, when I am tempted, it is finished I am cleansed.  When I say that I feel a fresh filling of His cleansing Spirit.

He is willing if you come to Him and say “I am unclean, make me clean”.

Day 19 –  Where are You Hiding

The devil can be so convincing.  He will try to convince you to indulge in something not of God to get a little pleasure, it won't hurt anyone.  He is wrong, it will hurt you and it will fall short of a spirit filled experience with the Lord.

The enemy loves to do this when we are moving toward a stronger relationship with the Father.  He tell you that you deserve this small indulgence.  The fact is there is no sustained satisfaction, people on this path are never satisfied.  True satisfaction comes from time with the Lord.
When the enemy tempts, make the Father your hiding place.

"You are my hiding place and my shield, I wait on Your word.  Depart from me, evil doers, that I may observe the commandment of God."  Psalm 119:114-115

I always regret when I listen to evil doers.  I always have peace and joy when I follow the commandments of the Father.  His commandments are for our own good.

Day 20 –  The Power of Wisdom In a Chaotic World

“I, Wisdom, share a home with shrewdness and have knowledge and discretion. To fear the Lord is to hate evil. I hate arrogant pride, evil conduct, and perverse speech. I possess good advice and competence; I have understanding and strength.”  Proverbs 8:12-14 HCSB

Wisdom is comparable to shrewdness.  Shrewdness is to be astute or sharp in practical matters.  Wisdom looks at what is going on and gets to the bottom of it. To be practical helps you to see things more clear.  This becomes very difficult in the middle of chaos.  Chaos caused by the goings on of the world and even more so in our actions in the midst of it.  We can live in a chaotic world and not a allow it to throw our lives into chaos.  We need to look at things from a practical stand point and apply wisdom in making our decisions.

Wisdom is there for us, just waiting for us to embrace.  I it is available from our Father, our Lord.  Here wisdom proclaims it’s origin.  ““The Lord made me at the beginning of His creation, before His works of long ago.”  Proverbs 8:22 HCSB

His wisdom, when applied, will sustain us.  ““And now, my sons, listen to me; those who keep my ways are happy. Listen to instruction and be wise; don’t ignore it. Anyone who listens to me is happy, watching at my doors every day, waiting by the posts of my doorway. For the one who finds me finds life and obtains favor from the Lord, but the one who misses me harms himself; all who hate me love death.””  Proverbs 8:32-36 HCSB

Listen to the Father’s wisdom daily, apply it to your life, give it freely to those who desire truth and practicality.  Do these things and through the chaos you can remain at peace.  Do this and you can walk calmly through a chaotic world.

Day 21 –  Where is Jesus

Jesus’ parents were looking all over for Him and were getting worried.  When they found Him He said, “’Why were you searching for Me?’  He asked them, ‘Didn't you know that I had to be in My Father’s house?’” Luke 2:49

Jesus was in the temple teaching, those there were amazed by His knowledge of the scriptures. The scripture He wrote.  He can be found in His word.

The disciples were out on a boat and being battered by the waves.  Where was Jesus when they needed Him?  “Around three in the morning He came toward them walking on the sea.  When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified.  ‘It is a ghost’ they said, and cried out in fear.  Immediately Jesus spoke to them. ‘Have courage!  It is I, don’t be afraid.’”  Matthew 14:25-27

In our times of fear and turbulence of life, He is there, we can have courage because He will appear when we need Him, seemingly out of no where.  He can calm the sea.  “He got up and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea ‘Silence!  Be still!’  The wind ceased and there was a great calm.” Mark 4:39

He went to the cross and died for us.  Mary Magdalene went to prepare His body, but could not find Him.  She asked a man, whom she thought was the Gardner where Jesus was.  Then the man said “‘Mary.’  Turning around she said to Him in Hebrew, ‘Rabbouni!’ Which means Teacher.” John 20:16

Where is Jesus?  He is risen!  He is risen to teach us.  He is risen to come into our lives when the waves are crashing into us.  He is risen to give us peace and calm in the craziness of the world.  He is risen to save us from our trespasses.  Listen He is calling your name.

Day 22 –  Question a Prophet

”If a prophet or someone who has dreams arises among you and proclaims a sign or wonder to you, and that sign or wonder he promised you comes about, but he says ‘Let us follow other gods, which you have not known, and let us worship them,’ do not listen to that prophet’s words or to that dreamer.”  Deuteronomy 13:1-3

Many today say things that sound good or even sound true.  It can be solid advice.  Be careful not to follow them just because they sound good.  Often they are just talking to lead you down a path away from God.  They may not even believe or care about what they present.  Many times they will pervert the words of the true followers of the Father.  It is all about leading you astray to follow the enemy.  Satan uses these people to draw us away from the truth and our salvation.  God is not tolerant of those who worship false gods.  See through their words and see their motives.

These people can seem so loving and caring, but they are not.  Watch how they recoil when people see through them and speak the truth.   They are out to deceive, do not get caught in their snare.  Ask questions to validate where they are.
